Road Closures

Please see below overview of road closures for the 2024 Cape to Cape MTB event

Please be aware that Cape to Cape incorporates limited road closures from Thursday 17 October to Sunday 20 October 2024, to ensure the safety of our riders, volunteers, and spectators.

The limited road closures will ensure the smooth operation of the event, local resident detours and access. All Riders are advised they must obey all WA Road Rules. We ask that vehicles out on the road be patient during the times that the riders are on the road.

Stage 1 – Thursday 17 October, Augusta and Cape Leeuwin

Start/finish venue: Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse

Road Affected Time Details
Leeuwin Rd between Augusta Boat Harbour to Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse 6:30am - 2:30pm No vehicles access to the lighthouse.
Skippy Rock Rd  6:30am - 2:30pm Road Closed (no access to Leeuwin Rd)
Diana Rd between Green Hill Rd to Matthews Rd 8:00am - 1:00pm Road Closed. Local access only. 
Hillview Rd  8:00am - 1:00pm Road Closed. Local access only. 
Green Hill Rd between Hillview Rd to Old Farm Rd 8:00am - 1:00pm Road Closed. Local access only. 

Please note, the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse will be closed to the public on Thursday 17 October 2024. 

Stage 2 – Friday 18 October, Nannup

Start/Finish Venue: Foreshore Park, Nannup

Road Affected Time Details
 Brockman Street, Vasse Highway to Foreshore Park 8:30am - 9:45am Road Closed (local access permitted)

 Brockman Street, Jephson Street to Foreshore Park

8:30am - 2:30pm Road Closed (local access permitted)

Please note, there will also be riders utilising Vasse Highway, East Nannup Road, Brockman Highway and Kearney Street during the event under normal traffic conditions. Motorists are kindly asked for their patience during this period. 

Tank 7 MTB trail network will be closed for public access from 8:00am to 1:30pm on Friday 18 October 2024. 

Stage 3 – Saturday 19 October, Margaret River

Start/Finish Venue: CBCo. Brewery

Road Affected Time Details

Wirring Rd from Osmington Rd to Whyte Rd

7:00am - 2:30pm Road Closed. Local access only

Please note, there will also be riders crossing Bussell Highway in two locations under traffic managed conditions for the following times:

Riders will be crossing Bussell Hwy at Tanah Marah Road, stop go will be operating between 7:30am and 10:00am. expect delays and allow extra travel time.

Riders will be crossing Bussell Hwy at the DBCA access Road (Between roundabout and Carters Road) stop go will be operating between 9:00am and 1:30pm

Expect delays and allow extra travel time, motorists are kindly asked for their patience during this period.

Margaret River trail network will be closed for public access from 8:00am to 1:30pm on Saturday 19 October 2024.

Stage 4 – Sunday 20 October, Dunsborough/Eagle Bay

Start/Finish Venue: Wise Wines

Road Affected Time Details

Meelup Beach Rd from Cape Naturaliste Road to Eagle-Bay Meelup Rd (north/west bound only)

7:00am - 12:30pm Road closed, one direction only

Sheens Rd  North of Meelup Farmhouse

7:30am - 9:45am Road Closed

Cape Naturaliste Road - from Endicott Loop to Burton Road

7:00am - 12:30pm Changed Traffic Conditions

Please note, there will also be riders utilising Eagle Bay Road and Cape Naturaliste Road during the event under normal traffic conditions. 

Expect delays and allow extra travel time, motorists are kindly asked for their patience during this period.

Dunsborough MTB park and trail network will be closed for public access from 8:00am to 1:30pm on Sunday 20 October 2024.
