The Cape to Cape MTB passes through or close to the following towns in the south-west of Australia.
Augusta
Located 317km south of Perth, Augusta is the third-oldest settlement in West Australia. The town is located on one of the most southern points of Australia, a short drive from Cape Leeuwin, where the Southern and Indian Oceans meet. You will be awestruck by Augusta's outstanding natural beauty, be it the rugged coastline, the expanse of Flinders Bay or the sheltered tranquillity of the Blackwood River and Hardy Inlet. The seasonal moods of the ocean are responsible for glorious sunsets, mild winter weather, wild and windy swells through to delightfully warm summers.
Hamelin Bay
The beautiful location of Hamelin Bay is located approximately 15km north of Augusta and 30km south of Margaret River, on a wide sweeping section of a beautiful bay. The clear pristine waters of this wide, sandy bay greets holidaymakers year after year. Hamelin Bay boasts the most unusual Heritage Trail in the State. The Hamelin Bay Wreck Trail requires a boat and diving qualifications. It explores the numerous wrecks which lie in Hamelin Bay. The trail's description of the afternoon and evening of a wild storm that hit on 22 July 1900 explains why a wreck trail is appropriate for Hamelin Bay.
Prevelly
Prevelly Park is less than a five minute drive away from the township of Margaret River. Established at the Margaret River mouth, the area is best known for the famous Surfers Point. It is here that the cream of international surfers meet once a year to take part in the Margaret River Masters. The Point draws visitors like a massive magnet and on days when the surf is huge a strange quiet comes over the Margaret River township because so many people are out at Prevelly watching the surf. Any visit to this region must include a trip to Prevelly and Surfers Point.

Dunsborough
Sitting at the northern end of the Capes Region, Dunsborough is one of the most popular holiday places in Western Australia. A beach town with a difference, Dunsborough joins the road out to Cape Naturaliste, the lighthouse, spectacular coastal scenery, and a number of idyllic beaches. Most of the best swimming beaches are in this region as the bays are protected by the Cape and the prevailing south-west breeze.
