Stage 4 Course Announcement
Ride Management has now finalized the new alignment for Stage 4. The 2010 Cape to Cape MTB will now finish on the shores of Geographe Bay at the Old Dunsborough Boat Ramp. The new course now takes riders further north from the previous finish at Caves House Yallingup and allows for a much better final day stage with the finish culminating in 5km of sweet single track riding through the Meelup Regional Park.
Permission to access Meelup Park has been granted from The Meelup Regional Park Management Committee, a group of volunteers who manage the Park and ensure the future sustainability of what is a truly spectacular piece of land. Riders finishing Stage 4 this year will now transcend over Cape Naturaliste and be greeted with spectacular views of the bay as they navigate the carefully chosen course through the Park.
Management would like to inform all riders ahead of the 2010 event that special permission has been granted for our event to use this area. Bikes are currently not permitted in the Park, and dieback spread from the use of informal trails is a significant risk at this time of the year. We respectfully request that bike riders do not train in the Park and limit their use of bikes in the Park to the day of the event and stay on the marked course to prevent any negative impact.
The finale to Stage 4 is a marked improvement over the 2009 alignment. The last day will still see riders head from Margaret River north along the Rails Trail through Cowaramup, then traverse a number of farming properties, before taking a series of back tracks via the Yelverton Forest on their way through to Dunsborough. The new aligment is still expected to provide the fastest riding conditions of any stage as competitors face harder packed trails and gravel roads through this region. However, the revised finish location is certain to leave all riders with a big smile on their face after four days of amazing riding!

Farewell to a good friend
It is with great sadness that all of the Cape to Cape MTB team say farewell to our friend James "Willo" Williamson.
James brought so much talent and enthusiasm to our event, and we will never forget his beaming smile, friendly nature and generosity to all.
Our thoughts are with Niki and James' family at this sad time.
Our event is all the better for having had James as part of it from the very start.

New Finish Location – Dunsborough
We are pleased to announce a new finish location for the 2010 event. After two years of finishing the Cape to Cape within the picturesque grounds of Caves House at Yallingup, event management has decided to finish the 2010 event on the bay at Dunsborough. This decision has been made with purely the ride in mind as the Dunsborough location offers much better track options to finish the route from Cape Leeuwin to Cape Naturaliste. We can guarantee that this new finish will be a spectacular culmination to four days of solid riding.
Course Improvements
The Cape to Cape MTB Ride Management team continues to learn a lot from each event we run and 2009 was no different. Despite glowing reviews from all riders, we have spent 3 months carefully planning a number of improvements to make the course even better in 2010. Although we are yet to have all of the changes to the course approved by the respective authorities, click here for an outline of what we are working on!
