Registrations for the 2010 Cape to Cape MTB are open now!

Riders who are up for the adventure of all four days now only have to worry about registering for the Ride Only Package.  The previous VIP package has been scrapped, but riders will still be able to get breakfast and lunch at the fully-catered start and finish lines.  In addition, all riders and the support crews will now have the option to purchase dinner tickets separately (more details to be released soon).

New Registration System – Strictly Tickets

Cape to Cape MTB are now using a new and revolutionary Strictly Tickets registration system. The new system uses paperless ticketing, which means that rather than receiving paper tickets or receipts, riders will be sent a bar-coded ticket via their mobile phone (a paper copy of the ticket can be downloaded and printed at any time if necessary). Riders must simply save the barcode to their phone until it is required at the event.

The barcode on each rider’s phone will be scanned when they arrive each day resulting in a faster sign in and more importantly less standing around! In addition to this we will be helping the environment at the same time.

The Strictly Tickets call centre will provide registration support to riders during the online registration process. They can be contacted on (03) 9001 0606.

2010 Dates, Course Changes and New Finish Location

2010 Dates and Start Times

For 2010, the Cape to Cape MTB will begin on the afternoon of Thursday 14th October and conclude on Sunday 17th October.  Stage 1 will still begin at 1.30pm, allowing people to travel down from Perth on the Thursday morning if they so desire.  However, Stages 2, 3 and 4 will now begin earlier at 8.30am giving participants more time to relax and enjoy themselves at the end of the day.

2010 Event Stages

Stage 1      Thursday 14 October, 2010     Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse to Hamelin Bay
(Approx 40km)

Stage 2      Friday 15 October, 2010          Hamelin Bay to Prevelly / Margaret River
(Approx 60km)

Stage 3      Saturday 16 October, 2010      Margaret River Special Stage
(Approx 50km)

Stage 4      Sunday 17 October, 2010        Margaret River to Dunsborough
(Approx 60km)

New Finish Location – Dunsborough

We are pleased to announce a new finish location for the 2010 event.  After two years of finishing the Cape to Cape within the picturesque grounds of Caves House at Yallingup, event management has decided to finish the 2010 event on the bay at Dunsborough.  This decision has been made with purely the ride in mind as the Dunsborough location offers much better track options to finish the route from Cape Leeuwin to Cape Naturaliste.  We can guarantee that this new finish will be a spectacular culmination to four days of solid riding.

Course Improvements

The Cape to Cape MTB Ride Management team continues to learn a lot from each event we run and 2009 was no different.  Despite glowing reviews from all riders, we have spent 3 months carefully planning a number of improvements to make the course even better in 2010.  Although we are yet to have all of the changes to the course approved by the respective authorities, click here for an outline of what we are working on!
